Get Animated conferences focus on the business of animation, so it is only right we have an awards dedicated to the teams, and the individuals behind the scenes, for the people making these wonderful creations come to light.
We will be inviting applications for the categories below on the 3rd January 26 - and the requirements will be examples of notable excellence from January 25 to December 25.
The ABA's ceremony will take place on the first evening at Get Animated conference from 4pm to 5pm, followed by the award drinks. By purchasing a ticket to Get Animated conference you will be given a complimentary ticket to the awards.
We have the biggest screen and theatre in the UK at Millennium Point in Birmingham, a perfect venue to celebrate the business of animation - we are open to all non UK, especially European, Irish and Canadian companies, individuals and studios.
THE ABA'S PROGRAM - 4pm to 5pm - DAY ONE
ANIMATION STUDIO OF THE YEAR
We predict this will be a highlight award The animation studio of the year will celebrate a studio as a whole, from to production, how they have marketed the business, and praise from the workforce. Requirements will be, studios will have to be in production, studios from all sectors, advertising through to kids content will be accepted, and studios from around the world are encouraged. References will need to be given, supporting praise.

PRODUCER OF THE YEAR
Being a producer means all hands on the deck. So this award is for the hard working, sleepless nights, stressed out individual who glues everything together, and also finds the money and doesn't forget to organise the wrap party. Open to all types of content, and global as well, this individual award can be submitted by owners of companies wishing to nominate their staff. Open to global producers, credits will need to be applied to be accepted.

PEOPLE'S AWARD
LINE PRODUCER OF THE YEAR
The line producer is at the coal face, and we want to honour them in a special award. These people organise the incredible talent we have, and play a supporting role to them, not just a vital cog in the wheel, but a crisis averter, spotter of problems down the line and cheerleader for the animation team. Like all our producer awards we encourage management to nominate, credits will need to be applied.

PEOPLE'S AWARD
JUNIOR PRODUCER OF THE YEAR
Celebrating the future talent of the industry, our junior producer award is for celebrating rising stars. There is no length of time in the role for this, the title needs to state junior, because we know not just recent graduates are junior producers. The role is not aged based. Again the submission will need to come from senior management, and credits applied.

PEOPLE'S AWARD
TALENT HR TEAM OF THE YEAR
The talent spotters and talent signers are vital to the industry, and we want to award them. In smaller studios sometime the producer is the talent and HR team, that is fine, as we want to encourage everyone to apply. The animation production the talent and HR team employed will need to be credited for our committee to verify.

MARKETING & PR TEAM OF THE YEAR
We know a lot of studios use outsourced PR agents, and do their own marketing. We are looking at examples where marketing has worked, and stood out on the IP that is being distributed. As an agency you can apply for yourself, or if you have used a PR consultant, please do nominate them.

COMPANY AWARD
FINANCE TEAM OF THE YEAR
Often overlooked, but the most important part of the wheel, the finance team should be celebrated, for finding that few extra thousand to finish the project. We are looking for external accountants, internal finance teams, and investment banking and VC teams. A brief outline of how the team has performed, and not so much the financials are needed for submission of this award.

LEGAL COMPANY OF THE YEAR
Legal are there when you need them, trying to protect your IP's and spotting problems in contracts. A lot of studios use outsourced legal firms, but if you have experience of a good service you have received, or even from your own inhouse legal team please nominate them.

L&M AGENCY OF THE YEAR
Most studios use L&M agencies for exploiting their IPs into manufactured products to be sold around the world. Are you a studio owner and have used a good agency for your licensing. The focus should be on the success and how many licenses you have secured through them as a good guide.

A highlight award, celebrating the commissioning and acquisitions teams in networks around the world, not just the UK. You can submit your own network, that is fine, or if you a re a studio and want to submit a network for inclusion that is good with us.
